I will supervise master and Ph.D. students in Graduate School of Business Administration of Hitotsubashi University (HUB) from 2024FY. Please read the guide for potential applicants in my English web page.

This seminar is designated to develop your skill on academic paper publications. We first read several academic papers to find good research questions, then discuss to construct excellent hypotheses and an identification strategy. Our goal is to submit your original research paper.

I accept master course students and employed students who have no intention to get an academic position but have a willingness to publish an academic paper.

吉岡（小林）ゼミは、学術的な論文（注1）を書き、公表する能力を、教員とともに鍛錬することを目的としています。まず、よい研究上の問いを探すために論文を読み、その上で、よい仮説・よい論証戦略を議論していきます。最終的に目指すのは論文の投稿です。

大学の研究者になるつもりが無い方でも歓迎です。ただし、文化や個別の事情を共有しない人に対しても説得的な論文を書くつもりがあることが求められます。

• （注1）私は、経営領域での学術的な論文は、何らかの合理性のある視点で社会的な事象を観察し、何らかの一般化可能、かつ、新規な知見を提供しているものと捉えています。新規な知見の最たるものが、一定の因果関係を見出すことと考えており、実証的な論文を特に重視しています。

In my seminar, students are requested to read academic papers and conduct an empirical research in technology management (especially, invention and industrial design management, or university-industry collaboration management) and, science and technology policy. The seminar puts emphasis on two things:

1. Reading of the latest academic papers.
   • It designates to expand your knowledge on theories, methodologies, and skills of professional writing.
   • Targets journals are;

     • Strategic [Management/Entrepreneurship] Journal
     • Research Policy
     • Technovation
     • Technology Forecasting and Society
     • R&D Management
     • Journal of Product Innovation Management
     • Journal of Technology Transfer
2. Paper development
   • For your empirical analysis, I can provide utility patent data (PATSTAT), design patent data (original data), and design award winning product data (Good Design Award).

皆さんの研究に役立つゼミ経営を優先します。私自身の関心から、テーマは、技術経営（とくに発明やデザインの開発・活用のマネジメント、産学連携のマネジメント)、科学技術政策に関わるものを扱います。主として以下の2つを優先します。

1. 皆さんの学術への関心、とくに、理論、論証戦略、そして、論文の構成について学ぶための、最新の論文の輪読（対象となる学術誌は英語での説明参照）
2. 論文作成

経営管理研究科の教員の中では、私は科学技術政策や知的財産マネジメントに特化した議論に強みがあります。デザイン・マネジメントも本来の研究領域ですが、マーケティング系のゼミを主にしたほうがいいかもしれません。

2024年度は学部2,3年向けのデータ・デザインプログラムのワークショップ、それから、導入ゼミナール2を担当します。

吉岡（小林）の予定です。空いているところは原則可能ですが、作業時間確保等のために不可とすることもあります。アポイントはメールでお願いします。子育て＋家庭の事情で空いてる時間が少なめです。平日＋土曜の9:30ごろ〜23:00が私の業務時間です。
